Join the Bypass A689 (Carlisle Northern Development Route CNDR) and at the Burgh Road roundabout take the exit sign posted to Burgh By Sands, Carlisle. continue for approx 6 miles through Monkhill. Go through Burgh-by-Sands out towards Burgh Marsh. About 20 yards before cattle grid onto marsh - turn left, over disused railway bridge, past farm on right and Longburgh House is next. Look for large white gate posts set on corner to access drive. Turn into drive. Fork right off drive to wooden chalet for pool (do not come to house).

Come to Thurstonfield, in Thurstonfield take right turn for Burgh-by-Sands. After turning look out for huge grain tower at farm on left, road forks in about 1/2 mile, take left fork (right fork is signposted Burgh-by-Sands, don't take it!). Continue for about 1 mile to Longburgh into centre village - Longburgh House is on the left (opposite road end), come past house, follow long stone wall and look for large white gate posts set on the far corner. Turn left through the gate posts, into drive. Fork right off drive to wooden chalet for pool (do not come to house).
